Review: Maryellen’s Living Room Set | Plus bonus pics

Today I’ll be reviewing another item from AG’s ‘school sale’.

Maryellen’s Living Room Set retails for $58. <—that’s the ‘normal’ price πŸ™‚

(Come back Thursday for a Review/Photoshoot of more Maryellen items!)

The table feels pretty sturdy although it is all plastic. Sadness. 😦

Once you remove the little plastic tab from the lamp…

It turns on with the push of a button! (Batteries are included already inside the lamp.) πŸ™‚

The lampshade is a completely unbendable plastic. But I do like it and it feels sturdy. Although maybe I’ll separate it from the table and somehow incorporate it into Emily’s bedroom. (Whenever I unpack it. 😦 )

I’m not a fan of red/yellow together. Too McDonald’s-y for my taste. πŸ˜‰

The newspaper is very nicely sized to an AG doll, with accurate thinness. Probably not practical for a young child, but for a collector/blogger/photographer like me…just right. Sorry the picture is so blurry! I’m not great at one-handed camera pics. πŸ˜‰

Ugh, more blurriness.

The set also comes with this also historically accurate and correctly sized TV guide. This is a bit more durable and I could see a careful little girl playing with this. Or spending a ton of time reading the tiny print. That would be me as an 8-year-old!

Also included–this (plastic) poodle dog with poor eyesight. Yes, historically accurate, but since this table is going into Stuart’s room for now, I promised him I’d make it disappear. πŸ™‚

The entire set. This does seem a bit overpriced to me, since it’s all plastic and paper, so I’m happy I was able to purchase it on sale.

Overall, high priced, but flexible enough to be a nice addition to many scenes.

This sloth is just adorable. Look at that goofy, slightly brainless smile! πŸ˜‰

If you don’t own him, go get him right now! He’s on sale at AG for $8. (Sorry…not very adept at staying on topic, am I?) πŸ™‚

Do you own Maryellen’s Living Room Set? What about Mr. Sloth? (I really should give him a name.)

The living room set is cute but I don’t know if I would buy it. The sloth is adorable but I don’t have him! I also nominated you for the Liebster blog award! I will have a post on my blog that will tell you more about it. My blog:

Nicely done. One correction, the TV Guide wasn’t really a movie guide. It told everyone what was on TV at what time and would give descriptions of the episodes. It did also include what movies would be played on TV. There were also articles about what was going on in the entertainment industry with favorite actors.
